The Ogham (Pronounced Oh-Umm) is the Irish Celtic Alphabet, historically it was used for grave markings but more recently folks use it like the runes, today we equate each letter (called a few) with a tree, such as the first one which is named Beith we relate to the Birch tree. However the names of the Ogham are NOT the names of the trees, they serve more as a mnemonic device for remembering the trees and their qualities.

Don't spread your skills too thinly. I made that mistake when I was young and I ended up feeling worn out and like I knew nothing. It should take at least a months study (if not a years) of each Rune or Ogham before yo'll even begin to grasp it's true meanings. One thing I hate is all those pricks who write books telling you "what each one means and how to read them". That's that person's interpretation, every rune reader has their own way and we laugh at those authors. Perhaps the only author's I'd ever suggest are Edred Thorson (his book Futhark) and Liz and Cloin Murray (the Celtic Tree Oracle) but once again, find your own way.

Alas whitchcraft is as maligned by emo idiots as Shamanism is by commercialist greedy bastards. If you're seriously practicing witchcraft, you've got a long way to go.... well the rest of your life actually, before anyone will accept you as one.

you are right, some people are just like, witches and pagan and shamans for fun :S just because it sounds cool.. but I discovered it when I was 13 (I'm 18 now :)) and i studied really hard to know a lot of stuff, and wrote my own things, discovered how things could be done better, different, more specific.
I'm not one of those, don't you worry ^^ I have respect for you and what you do, and foor all the other serious people too.
I have a few friends who are really devoted to it, like my brother, he is a pagan, and a other friend of mine, is kinda of what I call a magician :P (I call it like that cause she is more than just a witch :))

and I just love all the things in this Life, all the things that comes with my religion.. it's just so beautiful :)
